Exclusive double-duty system contains a unique blend of proprietary medias that reduce the greatest percentage of toxins, mineral hardness and impurities – before they enter your home for the freshest spring-like water from every tap!
First, water travels through Catalytic Carbon, an activated carbon that reduces the presence of chloramines. Chloramines are disinfectant compounds made from the combination of chlorine and ammonia and are used by water utilities across the country. Catalytic Carbon has the ability to induce chemisorption, which means that when chloramines encounter Catalytic Carbon a natural reaction enables the chloramines to bond to the surface of the carbon and filter out this toxic element.
Next, the water passes through another filtering media that handles minerals and toxic elements that contribute to water hardness such as calcium, magnesium, manganese, iron and also filters up to 99% of chlorine, heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, VOCs, THMs and other impurities. Filtering the minerals and heavy metals that contribute to water hardness not only creates better water, but the minerals can overload filtration medias. This powerful media works synergistically to filter out negative elements and extend the life of the system in total.
Water then is filtered by patented KDF-55, a zinc-copper compound filtration media, neutralizing organic and inorganic Mercury, trichloroetheylene, (TCE), and trighalomethanes (THM) and other heavy metals. It also inhibits bacterial growth and preserves the pleasant fresh state of water.
For additional filtering media, Brimac, an industry approved high calcium premium carbon that is carbonized at 1472 degrees Fahrenheit in controlled conditions. The result is Kosher Certified, 100% organic carbon, made of 80% phosphate of calcium, 10% carbon and 10% calcium carbonate. With an extended life, no toxicity and infuses water with beneficial minerals.
This highly effective media has no effect on pH, and it reduces chlorine, heavy metals, radioactive isotopes, mercury and fluoride. It is considered a highly effective contaminate reducer as it is hundreds of times more porous than other filters and contains calcium which attract the fluorides, filtering them up to 98%. When combined with high calcium premium carbon, the reduction of chlorine is 6 to 8 times greater.
Garnet, a semi-precious gemstone, is an ideal water filter media as it is a chemically inert and non-metallic mineral, which is commonly found in the natural environment. Well known for its hardness and durability, it has a high specific gravity, as well as its chemical and abrasive resistance, which makes it an ideal final filtering media. It is dense enough to allow faster back flushing and meets leading industry standards.
